FAQs

What is TERC?

TERC (The Employment Resolution Company) is a professional firm specializing in resolving workplace disputes.

What types of parties does TERC serve?

We assist both employers and employees, as well as unions or other employee groups. Our goal is to foster fair, efficient solutions regardless of which side of the table you’re on.

Are you a law firm?

No, TERC is not a law firm. Our role is to facilitate effective communication and conflict resolution in the workplace. While we may work closely with attorneys and legal professionals, we do not offer legal representation or advice.

How does TERC differ from other conflict-resolution providers?

TERC’s key differentiator is our Non-Structured Settlement Negotiation (NSSN) approach. Unlike arbitration or mediation, the NSSN is designed to actively address workplace conflicts and bring about resolution quickly and at a considerably lower cost.

Do you operate nationwide or only in certain regions?

We serve clients across various jurisdictions, and we maintain a broad network of resources to ensure you receive a competent resolution.

What if I have legal counsel?

TERC does not require or dissuade a party from being represented by an attorney or other representative. However, the attorney or representative would need to have the authority to bind the party into a final resolution.

How do I begin working with TERC?

Simply contact us via phone, email or book a free consultation. We’ll discuss your situation, outline our process, and provide a clear quote or fee structure before any engagement.

What is your fee structure?

Our fees can vary by project scope, and the specific service you need. We have a schedule of flat fees for well-defined tasks on our pricing page, and hourly rates for ongoing negotiations, or monthly retainers for continuous support.

Does TERC provide virtual or online dispute-resolution services?

Yes. We use secure video conferencing, digital document sharing, and other online tools to facilitate remote consultations or negotiations.

Is all communication confidential?

Yes. We take privacy seriously. Confidential details shared with us for consultation or service engagement remain secure and will only be disclosed with your explicit permission or as required by law.

Is it possible to retain TERC for ongoing monthly support?

Yes. Many clients choose a continuing relationship, so they have immediate access to our expertise whenever new issues arise.

How do you maintain neutrality in workplace conflicts?

Through transparent communication, clearly defining the parties’ issues and negotiating in real time. We do not advocate for either party, focusing instead on objective facts, reasonability, and common sense.

I’d like to try a NSSN, but our company is required by our internal policy to utilize arbitration/mediation only?

TERC will work with employers or worker reps to implement the NSSN process into their current dispute resolution protocols.
